Software Updates#

Open ExtraBar → Settings (⚙) → Updates to see the installed version and build number under Current Version.

Check manually#

Choose Check for Updates to ask ExtraBar's built-in Sparkle updater for the newest eligible release. Under Automatic Updates, ExtraBar also checks in the background and notifies you when a new version is available.

Update eligibility#

The latest version available to a particular license can depend on its included update period. Open Settings → License and refresh the license to see its current update entitlement.

If the installed build was released after the license's included update period, ExtraBar shows a recovery window. Depending on the server-provided options, you can Download ExtraBar (the latest eligible version), Renew Updates, Change Key, or Refresh License after its release record changes. When the license simply could not be verified, the same window asks you to refresh rather than renew.
